The
Land of the High Sky Gallery
LAND OF
THE HIGH SKY: This series
encompasses artwork depicting my
observations and feelings of the
vastness, light and history of
the Southwest. My work is
greatly influenced by having
lived most of my life in this
region. Many of my paintings are
executed with sharper edges due
to the sharp, clear brightness of
our sunlight. Not much is
defused here. My choice of
warm hues relate to the land, and
my skies are clear and crystal
blue. Our flora and fauna must
survive drought and a harsh
environment, but those that do
are hardy and resilient.
From the courtyards of Mexico,
the canyons of Utah, the little
donkeys, the cowboys, the adobes
in New Mexico, Texas longhorns,
cactus and sunsets, I've painted
it all and never tire of it.
