The
Beauty of the Earth Gallery
BEAUTY OF
THE EARTH: This series
evolved as a tribute to the
resilience of nature in spite of
the encroachment of man and
civilization. These
paintings convey my concern for
the preservation and conservation
of natural habitats of plants and
animals. Within this
gallery, I've also included my
series FLOWER POWER. These
paintings have been in
exhibitions of the Texas
Watercolor Society, the
Florida Watercolor Society and
the Georgia Watercolor Society.
Each of these paintings depicts a
large intimate vision of a
flower. I have been called
"the Georgia O'Keefe of
Midland" and, without a
doubt, the work of this marvelous
artist spoke to my artistic
yearnings. I do, however,
generally paint the flowers in a
more mutated state. They
are less delicate in nature and
painted in an almost fierce
way. The names speak to my
intentions: TIGER TULIPS, PETAL
POWER, INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH.
